Exist a close bond between the economic growth and the climate crisis in act, the extractivism, the land grabbing, the genocide, the rearm, the migration and the labour exploitation.
The Master in Eco-Social Design together with Connect the Dots Master thesis, hosts the screening of “The Cost of Growth”, a film by Anuna De Wever and Lena Hartog, directed by Thomas Maddens (A Mad Production).

The Cost of Growth links local struggles against extractivism in Serbia, for the democratisation of work in Italy, and against the colonisation of the Sapmi territory in Norway, with broader debates on justice, democracy, freedom of movement, and wars.
It seeks to answer the question: “For whom are we making the economy grow?” through the voices of activists, experts and experience of who resist oppression and injustice every day.
The documentary aims to amplify the messages of struggle and resistance from across Europe that oppose false solutions by building alternatives, from grassroots labour organisation to new forms of cooperation and solidarity.
For Italy, the story of the ex-GKN factory workers’ collective is told through the voices of Dario Salvetti, Flavia Brunetti and Paola Imperatore. Because it’s true: “We live in the shadow of the world we could have”, and imagining other futures is not only necessary, but also possible.
