Feel very welcome to this year’s edition of the UPCON – Upcycling Convention in Bressanone/Brixen!
This 4th edition comes with a conference on Friday evening, starting from 19:00 at the cultural hotspot ASTRA. After a keynote by Materialnomaden (Vienna) and short talks by Jennifer Aksu (Berlin) and Martin Welker (Berlin) there will be a short discussion with stakeholders of South Tyrol’s politics, business and upcycling community.
Before the conference starts, we kick off the evening with the opening of the exhibition “Upcycling: The next generation” (see PRESSKIT) at 18:00 where we are showcasing student work from young graduates and students at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.
Saturday, two masterclasses take place in the morning at the OEW premises:
- ”Vom Abfall zum Glücksfall”, with Johannes Münsch (Upcycling Studio Innsbruck)
- ”Dein Hemd, mein Kleid”, with Caterina Marchettini (Tailor from Neustift)

Saturday afternoon the program continues at wonderful site of “REX – Material und Dinge / Materiali e Cose” with a market for 2nd hand clothes and upcycled items. The market is accompanied by a nice program for young and old including good food, drinks and live music by Timbreroots.
