An event of PDC Places connected to the Participatory Design Conference 2026 – Peace, Dialogue, Coexistence
Organised by the Faculty of Design and Art at unibz in collaboration with BASIS Vinschgau-Venosta, “Re-commoning the rural” is a one-day event that aims to open a dialogue on ways in which commoning can support more solidarity-based, ecologically and economically sustainable futures for mountain areas in Trentino-South Tyrol. We will use this opportunity to reconsider how participatory design can support citizens and groups already engaged in commoning to create spaces for coexistence and solidarity in their everyday lives.
Re-commoning the Rural is an event linked to the PDC Places decentralised and localised events that will take place in the months leading up to the Participatory Design Conference: Peace Dialogue and Coexistence, which will be held from 15 to 19 June 2026 in Milan.
