Design Lead in studio course Communication / Interaction / Service

Call for interest for leading teaching position in MA Eco-Social Design WS16/17

For the Winter Semester 2016/17 (October 2016 – January 2017), we are looking for an excellent designer to teach in the field Communication / Interaction / Service at the Master program in Eco-Social Design at the Faculty of Design and Art of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. S/he will work in the trans-disciplinary and project-oriented studio course, closely collaborating with teachers and researchers from diverse fields (Information Design, Visual Communication, Product Design, Design Research, 3D Modeling & Digital Fabrication, Sociology, Eco-Social Economics and Moderation & Participation).

S/he will challenge and be challenged in helping students to develop their own projects. Parallel to teaching the competences of her/his field in various ways (through what should be a well-balanced mix of lectures, presentations, exercises, labs, excursions, reviews or whatever seems to be appropriate in the given context).

Eco-Social Design involves a challenging multitude of actors and factors. Therefore we work in multidisciplinary teams, and collaborate with a diversity of partners – and we enjoy it. We expect openness and engagement; unconventional ways, creativity, and autonomous thinking are prerequisites.
Additional competences in related fields are welcome too, for example may it be in design research, in service design, in architecture and urbanism, in arts, in crafts, makers culture and technologies, in engineering, environmental sciences or social sciences, in design activism and/or active citizenship.

The teaching foresees two days per week presence in the Master Ateliers at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. In exceptional cases the teaching can be organized on blocks (for persons traveling from far away).

The official call will be published soon. In the meanwhile please send your questions and expressions of interest to via email.
