Embodying hope

Presented by
Teo Pra Mio

We’re living in hopeless times for peace and democracy: European voters and governments are turning steadily towards far right ideologies and values; the newly elected president of the U.S.A. begun his mandate by retreating from agreements of international collaboration and enacting discriminatory politics towards minorities; Palestinian people in Gaza and adjacent territories are undergoing a genocidal war which consequences will carry over for generations; the advent of contemporary AI built on the opaque exploitation of human labour is leading to the devaluation of creative work and the usage-increase and waste-of energy resources; all while we’re bathing in unprecedented levels of unsustainable consumerism and social alienation. Embodying Hope attempts to guide participants in experiencing what a hopeful future could feel like through an experimental collective bodily performance, with the hope it may influence our future towards desirable actions.
