Politic-otium, Making time for desires
Presented by
Chiara Basile, Anna Cantini
School of Loosing Time
The workshop explores how to create space for different uses of time – in which post-capitalist desires and Connected Alternatives can be nurtured. Idleness (otium), far from mere inactivity, becomes a political collective act—a Space of Other Logics where alternative ways of acting and relating can emerge. Time is recognized as a Commons, to be collectively cared for, regenerated, and cultivated through experimental, interconnected, and inclusive practices. By embracing time as a space of learning, becoming together, and spreading alternative rhythms, this project cultivates knowledge and practice of different dynamics of action, relation, and transformation.
