Ivan Chaparro

This talk explores the intersection of interdisciplinary practice-based research, creative activism, and environmental justice. Emerging from a collaborative eight-week bicycle journey from Madrid to Berlin—undertaken by a group of artists and designers I had the privilege of leading—the contribution describes the methodology used, which combined strategies for community mediation, participatory design, relational art, and decolonial applied ethnomusicology. I will use multimedia materials to communicate the experience and, at the end of the presentation, screen a short documentary alongside a participatory music video created with artists, activists, and grassroots movements engaged in climate justice actions across Europe.

Ivan Chaparro is a South American artist, musician, designer, and researcher, deeply motivated to foster processesof artistic co-creation, political engagement, transdisciplinary art, critical storytelling, andactivism. He is the creative director at Resonar Lab, a collective of musicians, artists, activists and producers workingon social and environmental projects.
