Drawing from our research, in the workshop we continue with the co-creation of Patterns for Degrowth. In the first part we introduce the Pattern language and gather understanding through looking at several other sets of Pattern Languages (e.g. Transition Towns Movement Pattern Language). In the second part we co-creative learning process, where we offer the , an exercise book that supports seeking and finding potential patterns for various fields of practice, a hands-on tool for designing and implementing change, empowering to move from theory to practice. In the last part we share and exchange.

About

Kyona Eichhorn, Maria Stetter, Luisa Stiegler and Charlotte Fleischmann live, study and work in Vienna. As part of the Master’s project The Future of Spatial Planning: Strategies of Post-Growth & Degrowth, they started to explore how transitions toward degrowth can be envisioned and implemented.
Drawing from Donna Haraway’s concept of situated knowledge (Haraway 1988), they recognize and reflect on their positionality — as women, as white, western scholars, and as individuals with diverse academic backgrounds. Besides their disciplinary perspectives from geography, architecture and international development they bring a variety of experiences in the field of activism, participation, co-creative workshop conceptualization and moderation as well as education and research.
