Citizens’ Cooperative Upper Vinschgau Valley: From Movement to Economics: Collective Choreography Meets Systemic Virus
Presented by
Martina Schäfer, Johannes Fragner-Unterpertinger
Citizen Cooperative Upper Vinschgau
How does a cooperative like the Citizen Cooperative Upper Vinschgau deals with power – the systemic Virus? The cooperative aims to create a more sustainable future for the Upper Vinschgau region. The goal of the cooperative is an ecologically and economically sustainable development of the region, one that moves from efficiency, competition and consumption strategies, towards resilience, cooperation and diversity. To achieve this goal, the cooperative acts as a hub, offers advice, promotes networks, supports initiatives and implements its own ideas and services. Its members are local citizens and entrepreneurs who want to contribute together to more viable futures for Upper Vinschgau. The lecture gives insights in moving from a movement to economics and the obstacles faced in this. It will give practical examples of cooperation and participation.
