Powering the Commons through Design
Presented by
Bianca Elzenbaumer
Brave New Alps
How can design strategically strengthen non-capitalist economies? What is the role of aesthetics in making non-capitalist modes of life not only desirable but also viable? Starting off from commons and community economies as concepts, the keynote lecture will explore what design can bring to the practices developing around and through these concepts. It will then critically reflect on aesthetics to discuss how a non-capitalist world looks and feels like, how people feel and interact in such a world and the aesthetic canons and desires we might need to let go off.
